Texas Appleseed has been a catalyst for expanding mainstream banking services to low-income and immigrant consumers, promoting financial literacy and transparency in pricing of money transfer services, and working to change state and federal laws to better protect consumers from predatory payday and auto title loans. We were among the first in Texas to examine the impact of sub-prime lending in our state.
